Hello, MRC! I am so glad to finally be here! Word’s cannot express my gratitude for you all and my excitement to be your pastor. Stacy and I recently moved from Holland, MI. She finished working at Holland Hospital as a charge nurse and I finished up my time at Western Seminary. Stacy will be an RN at the Orange City Hospital.
My hobbies are all over the board and include drinking coffee (if that is considered a hobby?), biking, fishing, corn hole, ping pong, and hiking. I also love cooking and listening to music.
Finally, my personal objective is to serve the Lord wholeheartedly with my gifts; to be a witness to those who do not know Christ; and to nurture those who do by urging, comforting and encouraging them to live lives worthy of the kingdom (1 Thessalonians 2:12). It is my prayer that MRC will be a place where the gospel is preached and lived out, a place where all are welcome, and a place where we use our gifts for the glory of God.

Hi! My name is Missy Dokter, and it is a joy to serve as the Discipleship Pastor of MRC.
I was born in Georgia (so I throw "ya’ll" into a conversation whenever I can get by with it 😉 ) and raised in the Boyden-Hull area. After graduating from high school, I moved to the opposite corner of the state to become a Hawkeye and to complete a BA in History and Psychology. After a 6-year stint in Iowa City, my husband and I returned to our roots in Northwest Iowa to raise our own family. I have spent the last 12+ years on staff in various roles at First Reformed Church, Orange City. In 2016, I received a clear call from God to seminary, and have been pursuing my Master of Divinity Degree through the Distance Learning Program at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan ever since.
I have been married to my best friend, Ryan, for about 19 years. Ryan serves the people of Sioux County as the County Auditor. We have been blessed with three children – Aryana and Biyanca are our identical, 15-year-old twin daughters; and our son, Crystian, is 10 years old. The girls are talented musicians and runners, and Crystian is all about the sports.
My heart is to invite people into a saving relationship with Jesus, that informs how they engage their own lives, others and the world. I look forward to getting to know you all, and ministering to and among you in Christ’s image and service!

Calling & Congregational Care Pastor
Wick is a son of Maurice Reformed Church, moving to Maurice with his family when he was a Junior in High School. After graduating from Kuyper College (RBC) in 1977, he and Debbie Marlink were married in Western Michigan. For several years Wick and Deb worked at various jobs living in Iowa and Michigan. It was also several years of Wick being hounded by God until he finally returned to school, enrolling in Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, graduating in 1989. The Hubers served congregations in Cedar, IA and Le Mars, IA before Wick became Chaplain at the nursing home in Waupun, WI. In 2015 the Hubers returned to NW Iowa, closer to where most of their seven children and grandchildren live. Wick loves coming alongside others and encouraging them in their own journeys through life. He loves Jesus and loves seeing people experience God’s faithfulness. He’s excited to have returned full circle in his life to a place he holds near and dear to his heart.

Jon – our youth pastor – was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was married on October 17, 2015 to Rachel Schuiteman. They welcomed their daughter, Vera, on July 2, 2018. He is a 2014 graduate of Northwestern College with a major in Christian Education/Youth Ministry and a minor in Religion. Prior to his last two years of college at Northwestern he spent a year a peace at UNI and Iowa State, and if you are wondering about his story, please ask! Jon enjoys sports – especially cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, Denver Broncos and Atlanta Braves – being outside playing catch or shooting hoops, listening to music, being with friends, learning new things, getting into deep conversations and being with family.
Jon has a love and passion for people and helping students grow in their understanding of who God is and what He has done and continues to do for us. His dream is that our students will know Jesus as the incarnate, crucified and resurrected King!

Emily – our administrative assistant – was born in Colorado but was raised in Sioux Center. She attended Western Christian and graduated from Dordt College in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. With music being one of Emily’s biggest passions, she loved being a part of Dordt’s Concert Choir and getting the chance to tour the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, and the Netherlands and share the gift of music.
In addition to singing, Emily loves discovering new music and teaching herself new instruments. She plays the violin and has started to learn the guitar and ukulele. Other than music, Emily loves movies, calligraphy, spending time with friends and family, and all things Colorado. She is a die-hard Broncos fan and looks forward to fall every year when she can cheer them on.
Emily is passionate about serving others and hearing their life stories. She loves to see how God can work through the lives of others and experience His faithfulness.

Cara, our Worship Director, is a Sioux County native, growing up in Orange City, IA. After some time as a Public Relations & Communications major at Northwestern College, she decided to pursue an Advanced Diploma of Ministry and Worship Music at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. Cara returned to MRC with a passion to see the global church flourish and become all God has called it to be on this earth.
Some of Cara's favorite things include sleeping through NFL games on a Sunday afternoon, relaxing on a dock in Beaver Lake, AR, and cooking up baked goods while completely ignoring the recipe.
Although Cara focused in ministry and worship at college, she worked as a barista at a coffee shop while studying. She claims that coffee is a starting point to each day but also a discipleship piece for conversation to lead people to Jesus. Despite her growing disappointments with the America's obsession with Folgers, she says she's planning to stay for her love of the United States of America, knowing that God has called her to this land.
I have been married since December 19, 2003 to Jamie. We have four children, Jaylee, Tessa, Jenna, and Max. I love playing guitar and worshiping our Lord and Savior through music and worship. I have been described as a "life long learner" and love to read books and research various topics. I also like to fish and go out to eat. My goal is to help others be successful in their respective area of ministry and to walk alongside people through that.
