Adult Choir

Our Adult Choir consisting of those in High School or above is directed by Sheryl Grotenhuis. This choir performs during our morning worship services approximately once a month. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 8:00.

Praise Teams

The purpose of our praise team is to assist in leading the congregation in corporate worship through music, scripture, and testimony. Currently, we have approximately 60 members which allow us a variety in our teams and planning. Our praise teams participate every Sunday and consist of vocalists, piano, synthesizer, guitars, bass, drums, and on occasion we have had a violin, saxophone, or even a banjo. If you are interested in joining this team, contact our Worship Director, Cara Visser today!

Strings for the King

This orchestrated group of musicians has been a part of our worship for approximately 18 years under the direction of Laura Haverdink. From as young as age 9 to, at one time, age 70, this group performs several times a year not only in our own church but at many other events in the community.

Master's Ringers (Bell Choir)

Our 15 member bell choir has been ministering to our congregation since 1993. This dedicated group, directed by Judy Vlietstra has rehearsals every Monday evening at 7:00 and performs during our worship services approximately 9 times a year. During the Christmas season they are usually asked to perform outside the church for different community events.

Children's Choirs

Kid's Praise consists of children in grades 1-5.

Precious Jewels consist of children in nursery, preschool, and kindergarten.

Drama

Our drama ministry has been in existence at Maurice 1st Reformed for approximately 25 years. Our hope as a ministry is that we will be used as a tool to proclaim God’s word. We work very closely with the other ministries in the church to try and enhance worship. Just as Jesus used parables in his teaching, we use drama to help people understand how to fit Christ into their daily walk. We have two major commitment opportunities in a year – Sunrise Service and Candlelight – and can have a variety of other opportunities throughout the year, such as sermon starters, dinner theaters, youth group events, etc. This creative group is directed by Elaine Leusink and Sharon Vermeer.
